We did a lot of DIY projects for our wedding and one of them was our guest cards. Instead of using the usual wedding guest book, we give one guest cards to each of our guests for them to write a special message for us. We also included additional information that we want our guests to fill up to make the answering of our guest cards more fun like:
• The birthday of our first child.
• Names of our future kids.
To do our guest cards, what I did was asked my uncle who is a good caricaturist to make a caricature of us based on the theme of our wedding. Then I scanned the caricature so I can use it as the picture or image that I will use for our guest cards. Using Adobe Photoshop, I inserted the scanned image of the caricature on the half of the page of our guest card while I used the other half as a free space where the guests can write their message for us and their answers to the questions that we included in the guest cards. Then using my desktop printer at home, I printed the guest cards using card stock paper and voila, my personalized alternative to the traditional wedding guest book.
Our guest had fun answering our guest cards and we had fun reading each of our guests’ answers especially the part where they predict the birthday of our first child. We asked our wedding coordinator to collect the guest cards after the reception and then we keep it in a nice keepsake box and include it with our other wedding memorabilia.
