DIY Ideas from Martha Stewart: Keepsake Seashell Seating Cards

When we hear the word summer, we always associate it with the beach, the sand, the sun, the parasols, the ocean, the shells….So why not use these things to create creative seating cards for a summer wedding with a beach theme or for a wedding that will be held close to the ocean.

Here is one of my favorite summer wedding DIY idea that I got from the website of Martha Stewart weddings.

Keepsake Seashell Seating Cards

I attended a number of weddings already and most of the time, they use numbers to assign guests to their table. But for this unique seating card, use the name of seashells instead where each type of seashells is designated to a particular table.

To make the seating cards, just print the names of the seashells to rectangular cards using your printer at home. You can use a board type paper in hues of blue to give it an impression of water. Then buy different types of seashells that you will use as the names for your table and then find the flattest part of the shell and using adhesive, attach the shells to the corner or far left of the cards. The guests can even bring the shell home as souvenirs.

Now to identify the tables, you can use an ordinary display card with the name of the seashells or if you are in the mood for more DIY projects, you can fill a fish bowl with sand and the seashell representing that table.

With those simple steps, you were able to create a unique seating card with a summer theme.
